Entry nº 39: The poor versus the rich

I live in a country that is divided in two halves, one constituted by rich people among whom politicians are a great part and the other is made up by the poor ones. Those who are rich are more and more ambitious, their only aim in life is to increase their fortune no matter what or how. But they are afortunate few because they make up only a little minority of the whole population, while poor people make up for the great majority of the country’s population.
I´m not saying that rich people are all bad or that poor people are good, because as a consequence of their life style full of deprivations, crime has settled in many poor villages called “villas miseria”. But do not steriotype poor people because those who are dressed in suits and wear ties and carry brifcases are the ones who steal greater amounts and commet huge crimes, they hide, their real businesses under the appearance of magnates, entrepeneurs or businessmen. As a contrast the common thieves are usually under the effects of the alcohol and drugs. This makes them get so violent that will kill anyone for money in order to buy more drugs and alcohol. They are usually children and teenargers .
Adults teach and force then to steal because they cannot be judged by laws because they are minors. The reality in my country is that money is wrongly and unequally distributed and bad and good people are in both sides. Not every poor person is bad niether every good person is better because is rich or the other way round.
I still hope that one day societies will be more equal and everyone will help their neighbours. Charity and honesty will be the anthem of my people. It may seem an impossible dream, but I pray God to help us all to be better because I still believe that Argentinian people are good people in general. May be if one day the rich become poor and the poor become rich the true valve of life wil come up in their hearts.
Material belongings will be with us as long as we are on earth but when we die we do not carry anything appart from our souls and depending on how good or bad we have been in life, will be prized in heaven or punished in hell.
