Entry nº 13: Ethics in the profession

Is that a reality? It has been proved to me not do be true at all taking into account my teachers at the Lola Mora Institute. With the exception or 2 or 3 teachers in 4 years who in my opinion are not only good teachers but also good people. But the rest demand respect and hardly ever give it back to us, demand knowledge that they do not give, demand work for which they do not prepare us. So to what extent are they capable of demanding ethics and respect if they do not give it back at all? On the contrary they try to make us feel stupid and humiliated every single time they can, they think they are some kind of gods and godesses and we are less than an insect. Many times they have gotten angry or up set because we ask them to clear our doubts in the corridors or because we demand to know our marks and we are just asking for what is obvious and fare in an educational insitute.
Instead of face the fact that they are also very bussy and that is why they cannot be available out of the classroom or they could not finish or even started correcting exams, they give us rude answers or make us wait for hours as if our time were not as important as theirs. And after all this mistreat they pretend we treat them with respect? Why? Why should we be their pupets? We are people that deserve the same polite and respectful manners as everybody else, we are not cattle though they seem to forget it sometimes.
In fact I think they enjoy making us feel humiliated and embarrassed. Is that the proper behaviour for a professional? Is that the behaviour that a teacher or any other person who has to work with other people is supossed to show? Do they do what they teach? Do they have en ethical behaviour at work? The problem is that many times it is not just a matter of work behabour but of personal behaviour. Those who behave in that way at work, are most of the time reflecting what they are as individuals.
